Once known as the "Breadbasket of Africa", Zimbabwe's recent political troubles have seen a decline in tourism and infrastructure, and subsequent increases in poverty and poaching . That said, Zimbabwe remains, to me, one of the region's greatest-kept secrets. Mana Pools and Victoria Falls in the north and the Matopos Hills in the south are places I truly believe everyone should visit once in their lifetime.
